Early this morning, while we were busy drolling over the new Ghostbuster: Afterlife trailer, the Hollywood Foreign Press Association officially released the Golden Globes nominations for 2020, and while we agree with most, there were a few omissions that left us a little surprised, but such is life.
Director Noah Baumbach’s recently released drama, Marriage Story, starring Scarlett Johansson, Adam Driver, and Laura Dern, was the big winner, receiving an impressive six nominations, with Quentin Tarantino’s Once Upon a Time…in Hollywood and Martin Scorsese’s The Irishman following with five nominations apiece. Many of the films nominated made our list of movies that blew us away in 2019, as well as our list of the must-see film of the decade, but the fact that Midsommar, The Peanut Butter Falcon, and The Lighthouse didn’t receive any nominations left us confused.
