“The Rise of Skywalker” Is Officially The Worst-Reviewed “Star Wars” Movie Ever

Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker has officially become the lowest ranking Star Wars movie on Rotten Tomatoes, currently sitting at 52%, one percent below The Phantom Menace.

As reported by Collider earlier today, despite grossing over $1 billion worldwide, it took Rise of Skywalker nearly 26 days to reach the billion-dollar milestone, an achievement The Last Jedi eclipsed in 19 days and The Force Awakens in just 12.

Considering how divided the sequel trilogy was received by critics and fans alike, we genuinely believe Disney would be smart to allow Jon Favreau’s Mandalorian series to steer the iconic franchise back into everyone’s good graces before making another film. With an untitled Star Wars movie scheduled to hit theatres sometime in 2022, it would appear that is precisely what the Disney and Lucasfilm have planned… at least for now.

For those interested, the highest-reviewed film of the Star Wars saga (according to Rotten Tomatoes) is The Empire Strikes Back, which is currently sitting at 94%, one percent above A New Hope and The Force Awakens.
