Venom star Tom Hardy recently spoke with ComicsExplained, and showed a little remorse when talking about the scenes that didn’t end up in the final film.
“There are, like, 30 to 40 minutes’ worth of scenes that aren’t in this movie… all of them. Mad puppeteering scenes, dark comedy scenes. You know what I mean? They just never made it in.”
Many people are torn between wanting the film to be rated R to allow for some of the hardcore action that fans enjoyed so much in productions like Logan, while others are suggesting a PG-13 rating could help tie Venom into other PG-13 films, like a potential Spider-Man crossover.
Venom producer Avi Arad addressed recently addressed the rating issue, stating that producing an R-rated film was never a serious consideration. Instead, the intent from the start was to allow a younger audience to familiarize themselves with the character.
